PS I thought Americans called it ‘fall’
Both. I don’t really know why. I’ve always preferred autumn.

You started me thinking about when I use fall and when autumn. I think maybe it's an unconscious mood thing. For me, fall conjures up bright, colorful days, walking through fallen leaves in the crisp air and taking photos. Autumn is still colorful but more muted, hazy/foggy days, overcast skies, more time spent cozied up inside.

This is a totally beautiful image love it. First time I heard Fall I thought so a lot of USA folk Fall a lot then I was told that is how our autumn is said by saying fall.
Somehow I missed this one Jodi. Beautiful shot and treatment -- just dreamy enough.

More poetic word than ’fall’ when it comes to describing elements of the season? Certainly looks more beautiful on the page.
I think so. Fall is so flat.
"Spring forward, autumn back" doesn't work so well, though.
With any luck we won’t have to do that anymore.
