I've asked Matt for admin on the current one. Neither Matt nor Rog have logins anymore so Matts put in a ticket with flickr to see if he can recover it.
Do you have any ideas for Instagram I can put into play that may help? I’ve reached out to folks who’ve commented on the images a couple of times, but I don’t want to look like a stalker or a follower scam sort of thing.
Maybe post an image a day, like The App Whisperer does? Could be nominees from IotM plus some random ones for variety. That'd keep the feed alive and maybe keep people coming back to look at it and getting curious.
I love the IOTM idea. I’m a tad self conscious of selecting images to post other than that, but what the hey. I’ll stick to challenges. Once it gets into my routine it should be totally doable. ( and remember-able to doable.

As noted above, I am going to start posting images from the challenges and IOTM on Instagram on a (most probably) daily basis. If anyone doesn’t want their images shared, let me know. I will NOT post images from personal threads.
Since there aren't a huge number of us, maybe ask for a blanket OK the first time and get their IG handle also? Me and ratspeaker say you can use anything you wantI love the IOTM idea. You can post just about anything of mine of Instagram, except any images of my niece Nicola. Her mum doesn’t like her face appearing on the Internet.

I offered to help on all these things and was snubbed. Problem is some Mobitog members don't believe in growing the group or face the reason why people leave.

How about doing something with the hashtag? There are 39.7k pictures with the #mobitog tag. #mobitog hashtag on Instagram • Photos and videos

Also you run the risk of making the Flickr group more accessible than the Mobitog site. Why bother to join if you are a Flickr user and same argument goes for IG.

I think your offer was just bad timing John. Your ideas were good but the topic at the time was something like "What do we do about this site?" Now we're doing the sorts of things you were suggesting you're welcome to join in.
Gotta agree with you. Plates doesn't look like it's going anywhere. The MobiTog plate has attracted some attention, but there just don't seem to be many people there. (Or there are but I can't find them. There could be a thriving Plates mobile photography community, or any kind of community, but damned if I know where it is.)
True about Flickr. If MT there just goes on as it is now, there's nothing to draw people here. It'd have to be re-orged or re-styled in some way to make it a benefit for mobitog.com.
I think for IG, there's a difference between the MobiTog account and the MobiTog hashtag. The hashtag is more like the Flickr group -- most people using it are just treating it as a dumping ground, I suspect, something they put into their basic tags list and forgot about. The account, on the other hand, if it's posting highlights from here, is more like a teaser or ad -- a way to attract the attention of people who might be interested in seeing more or joining in. With that in mind, the hashtags that go with the MT account postings will be important, in order to put the posts in front of the (many) people who aren't already following MT on IG.
(Don't ask me which hashtags to use. I have no idea.)
I have already spoken privately to most of the regulars when they’ve won a challenge and have most of the IG handles. I wasn’t necessarily going to tag the images but I suppose I really should to give credit. There are a couple of Mobitoggers who aren’t on Instagram who have given me permission to post anyway. I think posting something from the challenges once a day is something like a feature. Today I started posting the IOTM. I’ll fill in with images from the challenges.

We have unseasonably warm weather at the moment. Possibility of over 20 degrees!!
