We will invite members to edit one of our images. Images will be available for one week. We'll take four names at a time (see list here).

People offering an image will give some guidance/make some specific(ish) requests, e.g:
  • I'd like to see this image *pop* more
  • Not sure of the best crop
  • Any iColorama [or other app] suggestions?
  • How would you make this image into a mono?
  • How would you make it an abstract?
  • I seem to have lost the detail of the building/tree/people - can you bring it back without losing the fog?
  • How would you make the most of this mistake I made?
  • Only straight processing, please - nothing 'arty'
  • Knock yourself out - surprise me!
  • And so on

Roolz for contributing editors:
  1. Please respect requests (and the image) of the person offering. I.e: Don't offer a Decim8'd abstract if s/he has asked for 'straight processing only'. And vv. Don't add anything to the image that the original maker wouldn't be able to add her/himself: i.e., nothing from your own camera roll.
  2. Please provide a brief summary of and rationale for your editing processes (this is a group learning process).

Roolz for people offering images:
  1. Please be clear about what you'd like to see from others' expertises (see example q's above).
  2. Please acknowledge and comment briefly on each edit offered -- and offer a little wrap-up at the end of the week. Anything that struck you about a particular edit of your image? Something you've learned? An app you simply must purchase & learn? However you wrap up is up to you: but we'll all be holding our breath to hear what you think.

Please browse the thoughtful feedback and comments from our beta testers here

I am soooo sorry not to have been on sooner. We've not got an Internet connection. I've hacked into a hot spot to send this message. I don't think we'll be back on until Tuesday. :( Could someone else post an image and I'll move down one? I'm very sorry.

Okay. I'd like to see what people can make of this. For those that missed this on the mobicolour thread, it's a wine barrel on it's side after the wine has been siphoned off. I shone a blue LED light through the wall for colour contrast.
I'd had quite clear "graphic novel" ideas to develop this but don't have the images on my phone to do what I'd want within the confines of mobitog, I'd need to source images of t'internet.
So I'm interested to see if you can make my "scene" for me from what you have on your roll. I'm after something from a "scene", a movie, comic, poster, design, something from the "graphic" arts rather than the fine. Obviously the colour is already highly suggestive but don't feel that should limit your ideas.
I'm aware what I'm after might be a bit restrictive so I'll happily welcome anything you want to do with this pic so if you've no ideas given what I'm asking, go mad and do whatever you fancy.

Here's a landscape version but without the blue light, just in case.

Thanks, rizole. It's a good challenge. It's going to take me a few minutes to get beyond  "river of blood", but I'm wondering if Alien Sky might have something to add...

I immediately thought of an app I haven't used in years - addLib S (in fact, I had to scroll through all of my "Not on This iPhone"apps to find it because I'd forgotten the name.) It's a random generated thing kind of like decim8, and depending on the image you use can create some pretty cool stuff. It's limited as it doesn't have an unlimited amount of designs, and there's the "Oh, that was made in addLib" factor.

This is a silly, tongue-in-cheek, sarcastic B movie horror poster-ish idea because this just looks like ice to me.

I added the words with Phonto (just the words in the brown box, FROZEN was generated by addLib and I liked how it looked) - you can add words in addLib but there's no way to finesse where they get put (lame).

Well, I'd never heard of it before, so it worked great on me! :D I especially like the second of the first two, like something seen through a retro modernist porthole. And those streamers coming down look like hair, the back of somebody with a bobbed haircut.

Yeah, me too... there's several filters that have that mid-century modern look.

Your description was perfectly clear, but I've had some trouble getting my head around 'graphic' . . . Seeing Cat's offerings gave me a better picture. My DH has had a look at the original and explained how he sees it. I'll have another go later. Meantime , didn't these Repix, Aerograph etc versions come up nice ? o_O

Intent on discovering something 'graphic novel' and 'rizole scene'-ic, we traversed terse' Mystic Mountains. We found some interesting keyhole shapes, and some worn but usable analogies about keyholes, doorways, life & the like.

However, Glenton had wine. Home-made, and quite potent. And after wine, we forgot all kinds of things, like which way up the keyhole went, and if the analogy worked better as something you peeped through (or were peeped at through) or if the key-hole analogy would be more powerful with an opening or a closing door and what exactly a graphic novel rizole scene-themed thing was anyway. We noticed the Pan-Galactic Runway and spent a happy hour walking up and down practising our sashay.
