Saturday, 2pm, TimeStamp, no theme.

Overview:

Participants are invited to make pictures for the TimeStamp project. There is no theme this round. Photograph whatever is happening, or make something happen. However, the catch is that your picture(s) must be made at 2:00pm, your local time, on Saturday afternoon. Post your pictures (up to 3) on this thread. Sit back and await fame and recognition, and maybe a spiffy new virtual award.

If you're new to the TimeStamp idea here's the overview: here at MobiTog we have participants all over the world, in many different time zones. What if everyone made a picture at 2pm on Saturday, of whatever is going on, wherever they happen to be, and share that picture on TimeStamp. We should end up with a global snapshot of what is going on everywhere at 2 pm. This could be ordinary, humorous, puzzling, but it is bound to be interesting. The TimeStamp title comes from the metadata that is added to every new photo at the time it is shot, the creation date and time.

Rules: Please see the Rules and Guidelines for MobiChallenges posted HERE

• Standard Mobitog image rules apply. Images must be captured/created & edited entirely on a mobile device such as a mobile phone or tablet.

• All images must be photographed and edited between 2:00pm to 2:20pm, local time. Any editing must be done within that time frame. In other words, don't rely on extensive image manipulation or compositing. These things are allowed, but must be accomplished within the 20 minute window of opportunity. Better to concentrate on capturing a unique moment at 2pm.

• In addition to the regular (up to) 3 images, you are now allowed to post one additional image, if you want to, to help "set the scene". This image should be described as "to set the scene" or "setting the scene", or "the location" or something similar, to clearly identify it because it won't be counted as part of your submission of 3 photos.

• You are free to photograph something actually happening, or nothing happening, or make something happen, or to create your own image from scratch, as long as it and any added parts or layers are photographed within the 2:00 to 2:20pm window of opportunity.

Post your images to this thread.

Closing date: entries must be posted no later than 2pm the following day (Sunday). You can post your images right away after making them but if you happen to be in a situation where this is not possible, you have 24 hours.

• Have some creative fun!

Any questions? Let's try to get them sorted out before the big day.

• There will be an overview after each event to discuss any observations of things of special interest.

• AWARDS! There will be some new virtual awards spontaneously made up as the occasions arise. The award winner will gain the privilege of wearing (flaunting), for one week, the virtual hat/cape/glasses/etc. associated with that award. Topics might be photojournalism, humour, documentary, brilliant observation, street photography, decisive moment, that was unexpected!, quick thinking under duress, inspired making of instant art, doing the best you can in a boring situation, etc. I will present the awards but participants may nominate other participants for awards of merit and even invent new awards as they see fit.

• Imagine being able to wear the Glowing Crown of Omnipotence for a whole week, where your every opinion expressed must accepted and acknowledged as undeniable truth.

Tips on setting alarms: you can use the Calendar app to set 2 alerts. I like to set the first alert 1 hour ahead in case I have completely forgotten (where's my phone!)(my battery is dead). The second alert I set 15 minutes ahead so I can get ready. You can create a second event at the same time for more alerts! Maybe set your alarm clock to go off right at 2pm to make you jump. Set another alarm to let you know when your time is up.

If you would like to join in the fun, just post a message below saying "I'm in!"

I'm in Sapa which is an overnight train journey north of Hanoi in Vietnam. We only had a little time at the market where the authentic tribes sell their incredibly beautiful hand sewn crafts so I ended up taking this at 1.55pm as I knew I wouldn't have an opportunity to take another photo.

I bought a handmade wall hanging from this lady which I photographed later. The stitching is just amazing - so intricate and neat. Each symbol has huge significance in their culture. So if you look at one black and white curve in the bottom symbol it represents a 'white' and black snail which represents a husband and wife. The corner presents a rams head which I think is a family. The whole symbol presents an elephant's footprint which presents a community.

Fabulous Ann. I'm surprised you only bought one thing. A wonderful image of the lady - is that a gold tooth I see shining?

Wow. Impressive. Though I'm not sure I looked at the right corner, but it's cool to buy one piece and have a complete picture book. [emoji4]

Im here at Starbucks to post my pictures, but today I have zero connection. [emoji53] the pity I just realised I accidentally took the pictures with the iPod … so no wifi, no piccies. Will be back later (though they're not rally worth waiting …)

Of course they are Gouvy; even if it was just photos of your feet, it would still be interesting.

Wonderful! You really made contact and brought home a story.

I was out buying snowdrop bulbs and some veggie seeds to sow this spring and ventured into the cafe for 2pm.

A cup of tea and cake is compulsory. :D

I've just spent the morning shovelling a heavy snow load off the wrap-around deck. I come in at 12:00 and it's still 2 hours before my 2pm. Yet on MobiTog 2pm has already gone by halfway around the world and pictures posted. Time marches on.

No they wouldn't. I've been playing with Dubble. Feet feet and more feet. Break for a yoga pose on a beach or a mountain top then more feet. My coffee my lunch an airplane wing 75 selfies and more feet. Someone standing somewhere with arms outstretched - presumably to demonstrate the infinite majesty of sea/air/rocks. Feet. Cute fluffy things, many many buildings and skylines and traffic. The occasional out-of-the-box photographer pops up with an outstretched hand (image of) but then there's more feet. Bare feet, feet in socks, bits of feet (toes, mainly) surprisingly few nice shoes.

I wish MobiTog had its own Dubble type machine - I wouldn't have to hit 're-dubble' 90 times for an interesting blend.

(Just thought I'd mention :))

Local cafe full of blackboarded quotes. The other bit is an auction list of antique farm equipment. I tried to get my feet in the shot but this blackboard was over a table full of uncooperative under-50s who obviously never heard of Instagram or Dubble.

Oh...one of my all-time fave (and dangerous!) hangouts is a garden center (the places I've shopped at don't have tea & cakes! Lucky...) [emoji173] I love snowdrops... And how cool are those boxes?

Love those little owls :) :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: (They are owls, right?)

It's Spring in February here in New Jersey - 63°! I'm out on a walk, despite being up until 4:30am sorting and organizing my Dropbox images. Yes, yes, can you say OCD??? [emoji15] Suffice it to say I had a cup of caffeinated tea this morning after about 4-1/2 hours of sleep (I've been caffeine free for over a year now.)

Since Hipstamatic and all it's choices have been a bit overwhelming, I chose to lock the camera in basic mode and turn on shake&take. Some surprising results! Here are 3 versions of a piece of plastic I was thrilled to stumble upon right before 2pm (I've got a bunch more images & video taken with the native camera as well [emoji1])

Aatto (I didn't even know this existed!!) + Uchitel 20

Adler 9009 + Rock BW-11 and turned on double exposure.

Now, back to my walk! [emoji124]‍♀️
