Hey all,

Hope you're all keeping well.

As part of an ever changing technology landscape, it's important that we keep our rules up to date. With that in mind we're making a slight tweak to ours:

Previously:
  • All images must be created and edited entirely on mobile devices.
  • You must have the right to post any image you upload, either because it is yours, because you have permission from the rights holder, or because it is in the public domain.

Today's change:
  • All images must be created and edited entirely on mobile devices. The use of stock imagery is allowed in your artwork, but please use in the spirit of the forum - if it’s a mosaic, then it’s fine, but just applying a quick filter to a stock photo isn’t. Also, if you’re entering a competition, the person(s) running it can state whether they will allow stock imagery, and to what extent.
  • You must have the right to post any image you upload, either because it is yours, because you have permission from the rights holder, or because it is in the public domain.

As you'll see, it's not a massive shift, but one which will give competition creators the freedom to specify if they want raw entirely your-own image submissions, or ones which utilise other imagery to create masterpieces.

Thanks all.

Sounds workable to me

Thanks Matt’n’Rog. Not as easy as it might look, keeping track of the changing meanings of ‘mobile device’.

I like the freedom for the members running challenges to decide about stock images. Until it becomes second nature, RoseCat Starzee and I can make sure those decisions are made clear in the challenge rules.
