RESULT Hipstamatic Magic Challenge #4

Hongdae and Boulder
 
Not an inspiring shot, but the sign made me think of GroovyGouvy so I asked Mike to stop so I could photograph it. It’s on the approach road to a beach on Lake Ontario. There’s a pond that is attached to the lake.

I’m not really fond of the Boulder pak, but I like the Hongdae. I cropped them later, as you can tell.

It seems very difficult to reproduce the beautiful green Hipsta has in its promo pics for the Boulder pak. There must be a certain color that turns into the green.....

Another question (I wonder if lkbside kniws): I’ve managed to collect most films and lenses but not many flashes. It appears that if I have those two of the three elements of a Pak, if I want the lens I have to purchase the whole Pak (re+purchase the film & lens I already have)? Lzed? GroovyGouvy ? ImageArt ?

And another question: can you gift Hipsta Paks?

This is the thing with the starter pak I’ve never got. Maybe I rethink it with the next sale. But it’s never as cheap as a retro pak though you have more already than what you will get. Still hope they rethink this and offer a “complete you gear” pak. And there are so many cases in it I’ll never use as I stick to the purple one. Maybe they’ll do a without cases pak? But it has a lot of flashes in it. But every time I counted how many good things I’d get with the starter I find it’s not worth it. :(

I’m betting though that you have to buy paks. You can email their help guy and ask. He is usually quite responsive.

Actually I thought it’s green, then Starzee came up with the yellow sign. So I think it might work by complementary contrast. So try yellow to get purple, orange might change into blue, red to green and so on. We should check this. :)

Seems like a sensible idea - must be a lot of people with just one element missing from a Pak who would not purchase a series of paks for one element of each but would purchase a ‘complete your pak’ as you suggest. After all, it’s the $ that counts.

Seems red changes to green.... but what I found in the preview in the Hipsta app doesn’t look anything like the image you actually get. :flushed: The colors in the viewfinder are much warmer.

Green is purple, and this one did turn out the way it looked in the viewfinder.
