I usually call that F-U parking.
It is!
It’s funny, but that particular parking space attracts people who park over two spaces. Last week it was a Mercedes SLK that parked in the space and over part of the one in front. Weird.

I see owners of fancy cars do that to prevent you from parking to close to them and possibly denting their side panels when you open your door. That VW, though, is probably just some commoner aping their betters.

Seriously, I feel like we should be able to fine people like that, in the same way we can do citizen’s arrest!
Just this Friday I found the last spot in a parking lot and the person beside me was still in the car, which was over the line invading my spot. To get out of the car I had to get our doors to touch and squeeze out of it, she saw everything. When I came back her car was still in the exact same position because she couldn’t bother parking properly! Some people!
