Haven’t used colour splash in years... great image and edit
I hadn’t used it for a while, but thought that by taking the colour out of the background heighten the colour of the crocus.

26th February - Purple Crocus

Another image from the garden. These are some of the bulbs I planted the first year we moved in which was 2013 and each year they seem to come through deeper and deeper in colour. Edited in Snapseed

27th February - Miniature Blue Iris

I have a small clump of these appear every year in the garden, but sadly don’t last long. I love the near perfect blue colour and their yellow tongues poking out to encourage pollinators.

28th February - Purple Miniature Iris

These bulbs were a freebie when I ordered some plants last year. Different type of Iris to yesterday’s, but still have the yellow tongue to encourage the pollinators.

3rd March - Wild Cherry Blossom

The first blossom have found this year. It was in the woods where we regularly walk the dogs. Most of it was in bud but these three flowers had taken the advantage of the early sun.

4th March - Micro-Environment

Spotted this little environment growing on the top of a rotten bark. I noticed tiny ferns, lichen, moss and fungi all obviously finding sustenance in the rotting bark.

5th March - I’m Watching You

Walking along the canal towpath we spotted this lone swan peaking through the reeds to watch us as we walked by. Didn’t take its’ eyes off us at all. I think it was hoping for some food.

7th March - Scarlet Elf Cup

Found this very colourful fungi on a rotting birch bark. The top photo shows the size of it - a small orange blob but in close-up you can see that it is a complex set of individual pieces. Taken with the iPhone 2.5 zoom.

8th March - Euphorbia

The first of the Euphorbias to flower this year. I really like the heads of the flower which are composed of hundreds of tiny flowers each with its’ own stamens.

10th March - Sunflower Seed Thief

We have several grey squirrels visiting the bird feeders but one of them never touches the peanuts but always goes for the sunflower seeds and to get them requires some incredible agile moves, often hanging off the tree by his tail. The picture isn’t the best as I had to take it through the window.

11th March - White Toothed Tree Mushroom

Found on a dead birch tree in a local wood. Stood out because it was so white amongst the green barks.

Sadly, no. Just had to get it before it moved again!
