8th February - Lying in the Snow

Another drop of snow last night and spotted these sheep looking rather fed up. Fortunately, as I took the image, the sun came out to highlight them.

I saw some sheep laying in the snow today when we drove to Oundle, but I couldn‘t stop to take a photo. Lovely one Jan.

9th February - Another Cold Day by the Canal

Storm Darcy is making its’ mark on the area, but just as I was taking the photo of the swans the sun popped out to cast a ray on the swan in the Canal. (The other one is asleep on the bank).

10th February - Another Cold Day

Looking out towards the Harby Hills just down from our house, we started the walk in the sun but within a few minutes this bleak cloud enveloped us and another snow shower appeared. By the time we got home it was sunny again! Strange weather!

Same here Jan. Sunshine and then snow showers.

11th February - Where’s the Water gone?

Today’s walk along the canal was interesting. The waiter had frozen but now has a thin layer of snow in top as well making the canal look like a white path. Looked lovely but not great for the swans and ducks who were conspicuous with their absence from this area.

12th February - I Think I came out too Early!

Today my first Daffodil came out in the garden, but looking rather sorrowful with the snow all around it. Still, another sign of Spring to lift our spirits!

First the white snowdrops, next the yellow daffodils, and then the other colors (at least that's how it is here, minus the snow).

13th February - Icicles

Hanging off a planter in the garden, these icicles were getting longer each day as they started to thaw then froze again in the evening.

Cool  We’re not there yet but I hope we’ll have the first icicles here next week or something. The sunlight gets stronger for every day now

16th February - Woolsthorpe Lock, Grantham Canal

Our walk along the canal today past Woolsthorpe. The lock gate are opened slightly to relieve the pressure or the water. I decided to edit and then worked on the image in Distressed FX and Impresso Pro Apps to produce an oil painting effect. Have included both to show the differences.

29th January - Basking in the Sun

On our walk today, we passed by a field of llamas making the most of the winter sun today. The one in the front struck a perfect pose as I was about to take the photo.

They’re so cute. A farmer quite close to us has a gang of llamas and sometimes we take trip just to say hello to them :inlove: And wow, hard to believe you had tons of snow a few days ago:eek:

So you have llamas up near the North Pole, and I see llamas most days at various mini farms close by my place ( just north of the South Pole).

And aren’t they just cute :inlove: They’ll come up to the fence and look at you with those big liquid brown eyes and let you scratch those long strong necks. I don’t know if the ones near me are kept for wool or as pets or both.

18th February - Snowdrops in Oil

As I have been unable to get out to take fresh photos lately, I decided to use one I took a few days ago and edit it in a more decorative way. Using Snapseed, icPainter and ImpressoPro Apps to give the image an oil painting effect. I have added the original as a thumbnail below.

Gorgeous - love that edit. You could make a lovely card out of this Jan.

19th February - Canal Landscape

Another day without being able to get out to take a fresh image, so used the image from 31st January and re-edited it in Snapseed and ImpressoPro Apps to produce an aged sketch effect. Have added the original below as a thumbnail.

22nd February - Pulmonaria

Another early Spring flower, the Pulmonaria. A flower that has two colour flowers on one stem to represent the veins and arteries from the heart. I edited the plant in Snapseed and then recoloured using the PhotSplash app.
