Need a wider view but don't have a wide angle lens?

Here is the "straight shot"

This was made with my iPhone 7 Plus held in landscape position.

Switching to portrait orientation already gives you more vertical coverage.
Changing to the panorama mode in the Apple camera app to stretch the width.

My resulting picture doesn't look like a panorama shot but it certainly has a wider field of view

Aha! Now that's clever. I never thought to use the pano mode for anything other than a pano.
