Hello, I’m Juliana and just joined. Trying to understand how this works first [emoji2] I started taking photos for fun less than 6 months ago, when I upgraded my iPhone. That’s all I have to take photos with, and I’m still learning, but photography definitely became a hobby! Looking forward to participate here.

Welcome Juliana! You will find lots of friendly and encouraging folks here. There is a lot going on so it might seem confusing at first but once you know your way around it isn’t complicated at all.

Hi Juliana, and welcome to MobiTog... so glad you joined us! :D You have most definitely come to the right place to learn about mobile photography and hone your skills. And having an iphone is really ALL you need to make beautiful images. Take a look around, maybe join a challenge or two, and feel free to ask us any questions - our MobiCommunity are a super friendly and helpful bunch of mobile photography addicts enthusiasts!!

Here's some information that might prove useful as you find your way around:

At the top right of the website you'll see a big question mark -->?<-- labeled Help - click on that any time and it will bring you to our detailed help section. You can also click this link: https://www.mobitog.com/index.php?help/

Visit our "How Do I..." forum, where you'll find all sorts of tips and tricks to help you find your way around more easily: How Do I...

The MobiTog Community is set out in four main areas or sections:

Community
Here we welcome everyone, post announcements and take in your suggestions and comments.

Image Sharing
Self-explanatory and broken down into sub-sections clearly named to make it easy to find a topic of your choice. It is here that you post your images.

Mobitography Discussion
For general conversations and discussions about all things mobile photography related.

Members Area
An exclusive MobiMembers-only section. Feel free to discuss things with other members - and find out about Top Secret stuff not for public consumption!

Important note: Please remember that only images originated on a mobile device (iOS or Android) can be posted to this community. No pictures created on a DSLR or compact camera are allowed.

Handy Tip: At the top of the site in the orange bar you'll see "New Posts", and clicking/tapping on it will take you to all the unread new posts that occurred since your last visit. Note: If there's just too many there to deal with, and you're really anal like me you can go up to the top and select "Mark Discussions Read" - and choose just a specific area to 'clear out', for example App Discussions, or choose all discussions which will clear everything and allow you to sort of 'start fresh'. That way the next time you go into New Posts, there will just be the most recent posts since you "erased" everything.

Also when you hover over your username in the very top right, you have an option to choose "Ignore New Posts", and select any forums/discussions that you DON'T want to show up.

We have lots of great challenges to help hone your skills and have loads of fun doing it, like Jilly's Black & White Challenge, and for the color-minded we have MobiColor, a fun group challenge Elements of Surprise (EOS), and a super interesting and fun challenge Time Stamp run by FundyBrian where everyone around the globe posts up an image on the same day and time. Check them out in our Competitions & Challenges forum!!

Lastly, if you have any questions on anything at all be sure to give us a shout out!

Welcome to MobiTog, Juliana. :D You can do a lot with just your iPhone, enough to keep you busy for years. Check out the weekly MobiColour and Black & White challenges to get a good idea of what's going on. Each one starts a new thread every week, so this week, they're here:

MobiColour (which usually has a theme but this week doesn't)
https://www.mobitog.com/threads/new-mc-101-theme-no-theme-january-1-7-2018.23059/

Black & White (which is always theme-less)
https://www.mobitog.com/threads/new-57-black-white-challenge.23056/

Finding your way around can be a challenge at first, so just ask if you're not sure how to get somewhere or what to do when you get there. Be sure to mention whether you're using the MobiTog app or a web browser (like Safari) -- the site looks different depending on which one you use.

Hi Juliana and, once again, welcome to Mobitog! Glad you joined us. You will learn lots here in our little village and never hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Hey JillyG, I’m a Brazilian living in Newcastle, Australia. Since home is where the heart is, I guess I have 2! :D My phone is iPhone 7 Plus, but every now and then I venture out with my old 5C, which surprisingly takes very good photos too.

I guess the first question would be: how do I upload photos? I can only do that on my desktop, right? I guess I joined MobiTog’s 365 challenge, but haven’t posted anything yet ‘cause I couldn’t find where to on the phone app.

Thanks for you message! :)

Thanks, Venomator! Since I don’t know many tricks yet, it’ll be very good having such a friendly bunch to interact with! My holidays are almost over and I’ll soon (hopefully) start posting the challenge’s photos. I’m very excited!

Hey terse, thanks! At the moment I’m only using the app, but I’ll soon sit down in front of my computer and will probably be using Safari. Thanks for the links!

There is nothing to stop you using a browser on your mobile device Juliana... ;)

We have developed MobiTog to be user friendly across all mobile platforms, not just with the MobiApp... :D

I use FireFox, almost exclusively, on all of my devices and it works briliantly, but Chrome & Safari do the job just as well (if not quite as securely!)... :rog:

Hi Juliana and welcome! I'm quite new here but it's a great community and lots going on. Joining in with the challenges is great fun.

I'm looking forwards to seeing your photos :) I usually take photos with my iPhone but usually upload them using my iPad (using the Safari browser) as i can see what i'm doing better. I usually use the browser rather than the app. Sometimes i'll email myself the photo and upload with my desktop computer.

Hey WildPlace, thanks for your message. Larger screens are better to see what you’re doing, for sure :D thanks for the insights

Hi Juliana, welcome to MobiTog, it may seem confusing to start but you'll soon work out how it all goes together.
I personally use either a mobile browser on my phone or a desktop to upload, I think you will find that easier.
Looking forward to seeing your images :)
