My vacation this year, and last year and for many years before, is a lovely island called Sylt. Today this is my first day of my vacation this year. I hope to have good conditions to shoot many images. :)

Here is a starter.

Today I visited a village called Keitum to see this old building, it's now a small museum. In the 18th century it was a captain's house. Around 1709 this building was in a bad condition, 1739 the new owner captain Peter Uwen and later on 1784 his youngest son captain Bleick Peters repaired the building and added one or two new rooms to it.

The images from the inside show the interior that was typical for this time. The rooms are low-ceilinged and the beds are small. All is in dark colours. The images are much brighter than it was the case standing inside the rooms.

I made almost all of the images with the app Fusion. I found it to be the best choice for the interior shots. It had very high contrasts between the dark inside and the windows with a sunny day outside. I didn't want to use any artificial light with the images, although it was allowed to photograph even with flash light. I found the images way more pleasing with the natural light coming through the windows.

WOW!!! Amazing place! So much attention to detail.... as if it's been frozen in time. Those painted doors and armoires are beautiful. And is that real cheese and meats in the pantry? [emoji15]

Such a great thread!

No real cheese and meats. But they look real for sure.

I call this Sunset shopping.

This the main pedestrian area in Westerland, the main city on Sylt. For such a small city Westerland is, you have a lot of very high quality stores here. Sylt is known to be the Island for the High Society. But all sorts of people live here. People who really belong to the High Society, people who pretend to belong to it and people who don't care about such things, like me.

Talking about sunsets, these are not really sunsets, but very interesting sunlight and clouds.

I made these images with Fusion. Then I passed them through Noiseware. In Enlight I mixed the clouds out of Noiseware with the beach from the original image using masks. This way I have less noisy clouds but a crisp beach and sea. The noise reduction in Noiseware seems to be still the best. If they only would implement TIFF support. In one image I used Handy Photo to eliminate a green lens flare.

Today, near my apartment, there was a small street festival. I am now in the very north of Germany. Interestingly they had some guys from Bavaria, very southern Germany (in german Bayern), which showed the traditional bavarian folk dance called Schuhplattler. They tried to teach this dance to visitors of the festival. With little success I may add. :) But very funny to watch their efforts.

There also was a peddlers market or flea market or how you would call it.

All images made with native cam.

I tried a timelapse video with the app Lapse It Pro. It's a great app. Very easy to handle with beautiful results. I uploaded the video to my Flickr account.

That timelapse video is pretty cool. How long did you record to get that amount of cloud movement?
Thanks so much. This video has 360 images, I shot one image per second for six minutes. The video speed is 20 frames per second. This makes for a 18 second video.

Sitting in a bistro called Diavolo in the heart of Westerland, Sylt. It's a cloudy day, relaxing and window shopping my main activities today. Like to already have my 6s Plus with optical image stabilization to make better shots in that stormy conditions you have here most times. It's really an issue with device shaking. The images can become unsharp due to this, even in bright sunlight with its fast shutter speed. Don't know if the optical stabilization can be of any help here. I hope so. :) But I will be back home when my new toy should arrive.
