Our Pets: Furred, Feathered or Scaled

Surely you wouldn’t think that is comfortable, but it apparently is... new chosen place. Before it was the sofa, then one of the couches. Alternate between carpets for some thrill, and now lets her head hang loose out of what is actually a scratcher, not a bed. Oh, well.

:lmao:  One of the many reasons I love cats....

This is Moya. We got her and her sister, Talyn (10 points to who ever spots the sci-fi reference) in 2002 on Valentine's day after I'd bent the knee and proposed to my partner on Bempton cliffs with gulls and puffins filling the air.
They were rescue cats. Her sister was poisoned or ate a poisoned mouse or rat from the allotments behind our house less than a year after we got them.
She is a difficult cat to love, demanding, whiney, clumsy, really picky about what she eats and when she was younger, because her sister intimidated her, she used to find quiet places in the house and wee there. She's either got some cognitive deficiency or was poorly socialised as a kitten or both. She doesn't show affection like our other cats do and has been difficult to build a relationship with.
She has stopped being able to keep liquids down now and we will be taking her to the vets to be put down in half an hour.
She's been difficult to love but we do love her and she will be missed.

What a beautiful story...... She's just lovely, flaws and all. :inlove: You gave her a beautiful life.... love and light to Moya, and to you and your family.

I am sorry for your heartache, but grateful Moya found a family that embraced her peculiarities. She is a special cat and you are special people.

The ones who are hardest to love need it the most. You’ve done a magnificent job loving Moya. Hugs to you and your family.

How did I miss this? It’s always hard to have to make this decision. The very act of taking any pet to the vet for that one last time is so difficult and heartbreaking. But, she lived long and prospered (sci-fi ref anyone?), so you can take comfort in that.
