Although I'm not an artist, I can certainly pretend to be one. A couple of weeks ago I was playing one of the inmates in a local production of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and I decided to get a picture of myself in costume to use for a Facebook profile picture. It ended up being a little more than that and I thought I'd share the steps.

Taken into Noir to get a dramatic spotlight look.

Image Blender with the Noir version in Luminosity mode.

Removed the noise with...something. Can't remember now.

Here's where it got interesting. Used the Ghost Brush in iColorama.

Then used Decim8.

Added grunge. I think it was Distressed FX, but I'm not 100% sure.

And finally, Glaze.

I hope you like it!

Very cool development of an image. :)
Each of the different steps leaves you open with infinite possibilities in a route to take. And from these images, you chose the right route every time.
Kudos!

Thanks, Melissa and Robert. I'm much more confident on the stage than I am with trying to produce something worthwhile with all these "wonderful toys". I mentioned recently in a discussion that I'm still at the point of "happy accidents" with regard to my own artwork, but it sure is inspiring to be here among people who know what they're doing and know how to achieve it, like yourselves.

Really interesting to scroll down and see the steps... Following the theme of the production, it's like watching his mind shatter apart. Great work Jerry!
