I don't know about that. You caught the gleam of that polished car perfectly. (But what is it? I thought it was an MGB at first glance, but now I'm unsure.)
It is very closely related to the B. In fact it is an MGC, basically a B with a 2.9 litre straight 6. It was only produced from '67 to '69, intended to replace the Austin Healey -- same engine -- which couldn't be modified to meet the latest US safety standards. At the time it had a luke-warm press, at least in the UK, as the heavy engine spoilt the handling but nowadays its considered more of a stylish touring car than a sports car. I think they only made around 5000, most went to the US so you don't see so many here. I used to know a chap in Sherborne that owned one just like this, it could even be the same car, but Tom has been dead for several years and i don't know what happened to his car, so perhaps just a coincidence.
