Join the elite Time Stamp team for Saturday, 2pm, adventures!

The Time Stamp Café is the international meeting place open 24/7. Looking for a refuge for quiet contemplation? Check out the new meditation centre.

Overview: Participants are invited to make pictures for the Time Stamp project. There is no theme this round. Photograph whatever is happening, or make something happen. However, the catch is that your picture(s) must be made at 2:00pm, your local time, on Saturday afternoon. Post your pictures (up to 3) on this thread. Sit back and await fame and recognition, and maybe a spiffy new virtual award.

If you're new to the Time Stamp idea here's the overview: here at MobiTog we have participants all over the world, in many different time zones. What if everyone made a picture at 2pm on Saturday, of whatever is going on, wherever they happen to be, and share that picture on Time Stamp. We should end up with a global snapshot of what is going on everywhere at 2 pm. This could be ordinary, humorous, puzzling, but it is bound to be interesting. The Time Stamp title comes from the metadata that is added to every new photo at the time it is shot, the creation date and time.

Rules: Please see the Rules and Guidelines for MobiChallenges posted HERE

    • Standard Mobitog image rules apply. Images must be captured/created & edited entirely on a mobile device such as a mobile phone or tablet.

    • All images must be photographed and edited between 2:00pm to 2:20pm, local time. Any editing must be done within that time frame. In other words, don't rely on extensive image manipulation or compositing. These things are allowed, but must be accomplished within the 20 minute window of opportunity. Better to concentrate on capturing a unique moment at 2pm.

Secret tip: This isn't strictly a photo contest. Good reportage or storytelling can get you lots of bonus points. Helping other people discover some place near you is another way to get bonus points. Make a connection.

    • In addition to the regular (up to) 3 images, you are now allowed to post one additional image, if you want to, to help "set the scene". This image should be described as "to set the scene" or "setting the scene", or "the location" or something similar, to clearly identify it because it won't be counted as part of your submission of 3 photos.

    • You are free to photograph something actually happening, or nothing happening, or make something happen, or to create your own image from scratch, as long as it and any added parts or layers are photographed within the 2:00 to 2:20pm window of opportunity.

NEW! Time Shift Exemption: This applies to special events happening 2 or 3 hours outside the usual Time Stamp window. If you think the event is significant enough and that others would like to see it you can claim the Time Shift Exemption and move your 2pm to fit the event. This is a test to see how it works.

Post your images to this thread.

Closing date: entries must be posted no later than 2pm the following day (Sunday). You can post your images right away after making them but if you happen to be in a situation where this is not possible, you have 24 hours.

    • Have some creative fun!

    • There will be a brief Wrap-up, after each event to discuss any observations of things of special interest.

NEW: Each week the person making the next wrap-up will be selected by the current Grand Wrapper-Upper.

Time Stamp is hereby declared an acronym-free zone.

Tips on setting alarms: you can use the Calendar app to set 2 alerts. I like to set the first alert 1 hour ahead in case I have completely forgotten (where's my phone!)(my battery is dead). The second alert I set 15 minutes ahead so I can get ready. You can create a second event at the same time for more alerts! Maybe set your alarm clock to go off right at 2pm to make you jump. Set another alarm to let you know when your time is up.

If you would like to join in the fun, just post a message below saying "I'm in!"

Past Time Stamp favourites, selected by the Grand Wrapper-Upper that week, are on display at the Time Stamp Café Gallery. You can also see a virtual representation of the photos in the MobiTog gallery section. https://www.mobitog.com/gallery/albums/time-stamp-café-gallery.447/

Lucky You! I suppose the route from St. Andrews to Fredericton bypasses the flooded areas?

I’m reclining in the garden on my anti- gravity chair, stuffed full of a cream tea! The chair will have to go some to defy gravity with me weighing it down!

Here’s Rog marvelling at the antics of a swallow flying low over the garden.
And now I know what the bees were/are doing - mating!!!! They’re buzzing around the holes waiting for the new bees to emerge so that they can mate and start the cycle all over again! “Couples” can be found underneath the bug hotel joined in holy matrimony, or something!

I wonder if the swallows are making use of some residual anti-gravity left over from your chair.
Your garden looks like a tropical paradise. Wonderful. Interesting to hear about the antics of bees, too.

It is an absolutely beautiful day. The house martins have arrived here too, but ignoring the nest boxes we risked life and limb to put up when we first arrived! Clearly not des-res-es.

2pm and i’m sitting in the wee gallery at Callanish, Isle of Lewis, that my friend and i hire for May - it’s our third year doing this together. She’s a mixed media artist and printmaker and i pop some photos up and a little bit of mixed media art (i’m just a dabbler with that).

The weather is horrible, cold, wet and windy. This is the view across the sea loch from outside the building. We keep our eyes open as we have seen otters and White-tailed Sea Eagle from here regularly.

A couple of visitors browsing (you might recognise The Sitting Tree above the fireplace, i got a couple of prints of it done)

Now sitting here with my soy latte, chatting with holidaymakers feels good to be back in the swing of Timestamp Saturday - i did take photos last week when we were setting up but failed to upload them, sorry!

That always seems to be the way - i put up 3 house sparrow terraces at my last house and they all got totally ignored - they much preferred it under the roof tiles!

Ditto. We’ve got a very expensive 3 chamber concrete sparrow box, but they prefer to squeeze in under the roof tiles and above the airing cupboard!

I love that little croft house. What a wonderful place to hold an exhibition. I can see several things that I’d like to buy. Shame about the weather, but I doubt it will put off the holidaymakers. If you go to Scotland on holiday you have to expect the worst and hope for the best. But I know how beautiful that sea loch is when the sky is blue. And the beaches on Harris are some of the most beautiful I’ve seen when the sun is shining. That azure sea rivals the Caribbean.

At 2pm we were sitting together with friends to celebrate my beloved dad's 85th birthday.

But the pictures (6Pod native, no edits) don't count for TS, except I'm not back in time to post the better ones by evoking Time Shift. Because in 10 minutes I'm off for the Night of the Museums 2018 (which is from 7pm to 2am, and I bet I'd be able to find some more spectacular 20 Minutes to post here. So stay tuned. Formerly I could never post pictures from it here, but with time shift I can and I will. [emoji106][emoji4]

Good heavens, is it a year since your dad’s birthday? I remember seeing a similar image in last year’s Time Stamp, but I think it had been given a bit of an edit. Lovely wisteria and I found the bee - I was surprised how large it was. I’m looking forward to seeing the Night of the Museums images.

I had an appointment to bring Claire (my Mini  ) in for a general maintenance check, and feared I’d be driving or doing something boring at 2:00pm, so I opened up Yelp and searched for nearby hiking trails, and found one only 10 minutes away! So after my Mini checkup I headed to the trail.

Lots of beautiful windy paths through a section of the New Jersey pine barrens... I’ve been gulping in the scent of pine (the smell brings me back to living in Washington state :inlove: ) and loving the soft, cushion-y feel of the path which is thickly carpeted with pine needles.

A small hidden grove I was just stepping out of when the alarm went off.... I won’t mention what I was doing in there, but I HAVE been on the trail for a good hour and a half at least... :zip:

You can see the trail blaze on the tree...

I heard a loud POP! as I was making these photos, which surprised me, and as I looked around to try and figure out what it was, realized this part of the trail runs along a golf course. That bit of white in the middle is a golf cart and a couple golfers. The pop! was one of them hitting the ball.

    Hello, all!
I’m in sunny Saint Andrews by the sea. It’s a gorgeous spring day. Windy and warm, 17C, with a UV index of 6. However, I am irritable and tired, so I stayed in. Here are three pictures of a baby sweater I just finished knitting and sewing up. I love the strong contrasts of colour in it.
