Join the elite Time Stamp team for Saturday, 2pm, adventures!

Looking for a refuge for quiet contemplation, or perhaps to hang out with friends in the Out-of-this-world time zone? The Time Stamp Café is the international meeting place open 24/7.

Overview: Participants are invited to make pictures for the Time Stamp project. There is no theme this round. Photograph whatever is happening, or make something happen. However, the catch is that your picture(s) must be made at 2:00pm, your local time, on Saturday afternoon. Post your pictures (up to 3) on this thread. Sit back and await fame and recognition, and maybe a spiffy new virtual award.

If you're new to the Time Stamp idea here's the overview: here at MobiTog we have participants all over the world, in many different time zones. What if everyone made a picture at 2pm on Saturday, of whatever is going on, wherever they happen to be, and share that picture on Time Stamp. We should end up with a global snapshot of what is going on everywhere at 2 pm. This could be ordinary, humorous, puzzling, but it is bound to be interesting. The Time Stamp title comes from the metadata that is added to every new photo at the time it is shot, the creation date and time.

Rules: Please see the Rules and Guidelines for MobiChallenges posted HERE

• Standard Mobitog image rules apply. Images must be captured/created & edited entirely on a mobile device such as a mobile phone or tablet.

• All images must be photographed and edited between 2:00pm to 2:20pm, local time. Any editing must be done within that time frame. In other words, don't rely on extensive image manipulation or compositing. These things are allowed, but must be accomplished within the 20 minute window of opportunity. Better to concentrate on capturing a unique moment at 2pm.

Secret tip: This isn't strictly a photo contest. Good reportage or storytelling can get you lots of bonus points. Helping other people discover some place near you is another way to get bonus points. Make a connection.

• In addition to the regular (up to) 3 images, you are now allowed to post one additional image, if you want to, to help "set the scene". This image should be described as "to set the scene" or "setting the scene", or "the location" or something similar, to clearly identify it because it won't be counted as part of your submission of 3 photos.

• You are free to photograph something actually happening, or nothing happening, or make something happen, or to create your own image from scratch, as long as it and any added parts or layers are photographed within the 2:00 to 2:20pm window of opportunity.

NEW! Time Shift Exemption: This applies to special events happening 2 or 3 hours outside the usual Time Stamp window. If you think the event is significant enough and that others would like to see it you can claim the Time Shift Exemption and move your 2pm to fit the event. This is a test to see how it works.

Post your images to this thread.

Closing date: entries must be posted no later than 2pm the following day (Sunday). You can post your images right away after making them but if you happen to be in a situation where this is not possible, you have 24 hours.

• Have some creative fun!

• There will be a brief Wrap-up, after each event to discuss any observations of things of special interest.

NEW: Each week the person making the next wrap-up will be selected by the current Grand Wrapper-Upper.

Time Stamp is hereby declared an acronym-free zone.

Tips on setting alarms: you can use the Calendar app to set 2 alerts. I like to set the first alert 1 hour ahead in case I have completely forgotten (where's my phone!)(my battery is dead). The second alert I set 15 minutes ahead so I can get ready. You can create a second event at the same time for more alerts! Maybe set your alarm clock to go off right at 2pm to make you jump. Set another alarm to let you know when your time is up.

If you would like to join in the fun, just post a message below saying "I'm in!"

Past Time Stamp favourites, selected by the Grand Wrapper-Upper that week, are on display at the Time Stamp Café Gallery. You can also see a virtual representation of the photos in the MobiTog gallery section. https://www.mobitog.com/gallery/albums/time-stamp-café-gallery.447/

I’m on the golf course and playing a competition with somebody I don’t know very well so not sure if I will get pics. It will probably have to be out of normal Timestamp.

Look at all those beautiful olives! How lush...

And WOW your mosaic is absolutely gorgeous! :inlove::notworthy::inlove::notworthy: How do you get such small intricate shapes? I’d love if we could follow the stages to completion.

Edit: Ooooooo....I just spotted the lady beetle!!

I just finished my walk around the neighbourhood with Angel when it was time to take pictures. /eye roll/ So, here are the two dogs resting in the living room with me.

I didn’t take Thor on a walk today because he needs his rest. I think my trip to Halifax this week with the two dogs was a bit too taxing for him. Heck, it was for me, too. However, he seems to have developed a post-operation infection. I got him to the vet yesterday and we started him on some antibiotics that should have him feeling better very soon.

In good news, his adoption ad has already been posted (before the trip) because he is so good at meeting people. He doesn’t need any remedial training before he can be adopted, unlike some foster dogs who need some behaviour modification before they are ready to meet potential adopters. https://www.facebook.com/ElderDogFredericton/posts/2099818406726743

Angel is very patient, but also a bit passive aggressive about sharing her space with Thor. I took pictures of him first, so she gave me the cold shoulder.

Then she got up and moved across the room!

Life with a foster dog is more complicated, but also more rewarding. I’ve met lots of nice people while out walking Thor and spread the word both of his availability and of the organization I’m working with, ElderDog.

As a bonus picture, here is the Hollywood ready headshot I made for the business cards I printed to carry on walks with him. On the reverse side is his name and all the ways to contact ElderDog. I’ve been telling the organizers that they need these cards for all of their fosters. Now that they’ve seen mine, I believe I will be designing all of theirs for them. I don’t mind at all, as long as I just make a file that they will print with their own ink.

I hope Thor finds a good home. He seems like a nice dog. You have certainly put a lot of thought and effort into your care of both dogs. The business cards for ElderDog is a great idea. Better give Angel an extra pat.

I was only confident making the business cards because of my new mobile editing skills hones through TimeStamp. I used an Avery double sided business card template. It will be easy to change the name and the photo for future cards.
Angel still gets to sleep on my bed with me and gets solo walks with me. I thank her regularly and whisper in her ear that I love her the most.

Today was the type of day I really hate - super hot and humid as hell. :barf: But I managed to run out to buy a sage plant... sadly my sage didn’t survive the winter this year. :( I went to two nurseries that didn’t have any sage  :alien: and my third try was the charm. It’s a beautiful, sort of *wild*, slightly messy place with loads of charm and little buildings scattered among some gorgeous trees. I so wanted to wander around and photograph everything, but 2 minutes after I arrived a well needed storm hit (the temp dropped 20 degrees). I hid out in the greenhouse.... the perfect place to wait out the storm. :inlove:

Murphy’s Law...

Yes, he should feel better soon... sweet boy, he certainly looks at home.

:lmao: That photo says it all... totally made me laugh out loud.

I forgot to switch off my alarm and it nearly rang in the middle of my partner’s swing :cheeks::eek:. Fortunately I wasn’t standing too close put I fumbled for a good 15 secs before I got it switched off. Just not a good time to be taking photos.

Anyhow, I have been reading the posts about the contemplative photography and decided to go around my house this morning and get some abstract images in a 20 minute timespan just in case the golf didn’t work. To be honest I prefer abstract nature images but it was an interesting exercise. No edits
