RynS Project 52 - 2019
Week 26: Composition: Geometry - We live in a world surrounded by geometry. Use Geometry in your photo this week.
4053D32E-AD17-43C7-A814-B0290F627D52.jpeg

There are so many examples of geometry in our world that it’s hard to pick just one image. This photo is man made items but just look at a pine cone to see geometry at its natural-world-best. This was taken with my iPhone 7Plus and not edited at all.

Week 27: Inspiration: Gratitude - What are you grateful for? Show us.

Still recovering from either round 2 or 3 of the flu...I opted to do a scrapbook-ish treatment of some of the things I’m grateful for...I’m actually grateful for all of it. Without the yin/yang-hot/cold, etc we wouldn’t have any way to compare and our sense of wonder and gratitude would suffer greatly.

Week 29:
Depth of Field: Depth of Field is a great way to isolate your subject. Instead, for the challenge though I want you to use DoF to make a subject appear part of something larger.

OK...probably not at all what this calls for, but this is a still taken from my first ever short video done with an “ar “ ap. Imhaneven google ‘ar ‘ e o see what it means. You can find the video on Instagram....I don’t know if I can put it on here or not. It’s terribly elementary, but this old dog learned a new trick today and I’m feeling pretty pleased with myself for pulling it off at all.:sunglasses:

Hah! I remembered I can put a link in here :grimacing: woot woot - it works!

Wow....ar stands for augmented reality....or its associated with guns...like machine guns or some such! I think I gotta be a little careful about throwing that term around :lmao:

I thought the trunks and canopy framed these bright yellow flowers quite nicely.

A lovely collection. I might have pegged the bottom right as Michigan but not the other three. And that building at the bottom left -- when I zoom in, I can see it's made of bricks, but at normal distance, it looks almost woven, like rattan or something.

Week 29: Composition: Depth of Field —
Depth of Field is a great way to isolate your subject. Instead, for the challenge though I want you to use DoF to make a subject appear part of something larger.

I think this is as close as I can come to this DoF thing. This is right out of my iPhone 7 Plus. No post processing.

Week 31: Story Telling: Friends and Family
— Telling the story of someone you know well is sometimes the hardest story to tell.
6ED95A2F-1B93-40B0-A983-93A1783EE2A5.jpeg

My firstborn granddaughter definitely got my sense of humor and interest in the creepy, abandoned, and possibly haunted. We laughed for quite some time over the mental image of someone with a can of spray paint and the desire to create graffiti and the best they can come up with is “eggs” ...really?! And...we went around the building, came back to this side only 30 -45 seconds after pulling away to see the door slowly closing. Yikes!!! There had to be someone hiding just behind that open door watching us! C—r—e—e—p—y!

Week 33: Inspiration: Tell a Lie
— It is said that the "Camera Never Lies". Prove it wrong.
I’m not sure I can do this. I don’t think my camera is wrong. When I look at my pictures, I see them as being what I aimed the camera at. Maybe I’m just not understanding the prompt.

This isn’t the camera being ‘wrong’ the tractor creating the dust was far away and in shadow so,it just didn’t show up.

Week 35: Composition: Symmetry Portrait
- Symmetry is a strong compositional technique most often used in landscapes and architecture. So break the mold by using Symmetry in a portrait.
The only portraits I do are of grandchildren and in respect for my children I cannot post those online...so...instead, I’ll post the full color image of the black-and-white version from the previous week.

Week 40: Story Telling: Modern Convenience -
What modern convenience of 2019 can not you live without? Create an image that looks like an advertisement for your favorite Modern Convenience.
Since I’ve had two opportunities this year to learn this ’the hard way’ I can tell you there are two modern conven I cannot live without...running water through indoor plumbing and electricity! And no...I’m not creating an ad for it/them.
So...as I thumb my nose at the instructor, I’ll post this instead;)

— Color Theory is a huge part of composition that most photographers don't explore. So it is time to explore it. Use Color Grading to create an image that looks like it is a still from a movie.
