Week 6

Something a little different this time. The top image, with the green and brown were created using Diana App and combining a floral photo with a photo of one of my stencils. Then put into ProCreate and layered. By sliding the opacity down I was able to erase out the areas I wanted to remove. There’s probably afaster way, but this. Was like reverse coloring and rather enjoyable to do. When I’d removed the areas I wanted gone I turned the opacity back up and got this image which I quite like.

This is one of my favorite local-ish buildings. If I ever win the lottery, I’m going to buy this building and restore it and possibly turn it into a home for my whole family. It used to house several high end furniture stores and an oriental rug store so each family could have a nice sized living space and the triple wide hall that runs down the middle would be great communal space and play area for all the kids. Gotta have dreams:)

The water wheel at nearby Bowen’s Mill. In the fall, it still runs the millstone where they make wonderful apple cider.
taken with iPhone 7 Plus, edited in Snapseed (sharpened to 23) to get it to upload correctly here.

I would love to see some of your abstracts in, err, our APPstract challenges, Ryn. In the recent Love Poem theme, I was hoping to see some of your beautiful calligraphy work :inlove:

Note to self: be more proactive recruiting known abstract artists to APPstract.

Grandkids at Lake Michigan on a winter’s day. At 14 & 21 they can still enjoy the simple things of life and they still love going on adventures with grandma ❤️ Taken with iPhone 7 Plus, cropped in native app, edited in Simply Water app to get watercolor effect. This outing was just before we had to quarantine. The first case in Michigan was announced in the morning of this day so we knew it was gonna have to last us awhile.

on my way home from picking up groceries, I pass by this creek lined with sycamores...it is a lovely spot. This is an unedited iPhone 7+ photo.

another of my favorite spots...nothing changes here, but the yard is kept mowed and the buildings abandoned. An odd incongruity.

iphone 7 Plus, wildflowers this spring, Lightroom mobile to change the coloration and add the white vignette. I use the little circle thingy in the top right of the colors section to open up each color and adjust them separately.
