Shallow Depth Of Field for Iphone Photos Tecniques and Tips

BigLens is an app I have seen mentioned here on the forum that does something along these lines. I must check it out ...

Anyone else played with that ?
I love Big Lens but I'm not a great iPhoneographer (yet) so my opinion might not be worth much lol! : )

I used Big Lens for this pic to try and blur my hand out in the corner...

I personally like "After Focus" a little better, since it allows you to select multiple focus areas (with different blur-strength).
You can then select which area you want to have the focus on and are also able to switch between them at will.

I did 2 really quick edits...with a little more time you can get FAR better results...

Cheers for the tip - going to check it out now! : )

So the lens is the camera? Does it make a difference if it's a true mobile accessory or not, as long as it expands the possibilities of the phone's image capture ability in a portable way? I like that they're at least thinking outside the box to get around sensor limitation issues.
The Sony accessories are clearly an advance in compact camera technoloy. However, it does nothing to improve or expand the phone's image capture ability. The iPhone merely becomes the control mechanism for the camera. The accessory has it's own digital sensor, zoom, and memory card slot. It's similar to the various so-called "smart cameras" on the market, excempt this pairs with your existing phone. Certain DSLR's on the market are able to be controled from an iPhone or Android these days, and I'd get the same results or better. But it isn't true mobile photography.
