Tasted this at the Trader Joe's sampling booth and I was hooked! Bought some cantaloupe and made it today:

Cantaloupe + scallions + olive oil + apple cider vinegar + salt&pepper to taste = YUM. Some fresh mint or basil would also be tasty additions.

That looks gorgeous. Here's another one with melon. It's really lovely. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/16/health/nutrition/melon-cucumber-and-tomato-salad.html?_r=0

Gonna have to give that a try!! I've recently been enjoying watermelon with fresh mint and feta cheese.

I could just turn this thread into a general recipe thread?

EDIT: The title is a bit uninspired... any better ideas will be welcome!

Um. Mobi-cafe ? gourmand ? recipes ? :zip: Where's terse when you need him (his naming skills)

Roolz: have to have a recipe and an image? Apped or not, long as there's an image (that matches the recipe)?

Savoury Muffins

Cheese and Spring Onion (Scallion) Muffins

image.jpeg

Before

image.jpeg

After

280g plain flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
Half a teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
Half a teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon turmeric
Half a teaspoon cumin
120g cheddar cheese grated
Four spring onions sliced
Handful of sunflower seeds
Handful of pumpkin seeds

2 eggs
6 tablespoons sunflower oil
250ml sour cream (or full fat yoghurt)
Juice of half a lemon

Preheat oven to 200C/400F/Gas Mark 6. Line a 12 hole muffin tin with 12 paper cases.

Mix the eggs, sour cream, lemon juice and sunflower oil together in a jug.
Mix the rest of the ingredients together in a large bowl. Pour the egg mixture into the flour mixture and gently fold together. Don't overmix! Distribute evenly into the 12 muffin cases and bake for 20 minutes or until well risen and golden.

Use the flour, baking powder, bicarb and salt mixture with the eggs, sour cream, lemon juice and sunflower oil as a basis for any savoury muffins. Add different spices and seeds, a different cheese, grated carrot or courgette, sun dried tomatoes and make the recipe your own!

YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want one RIGHT NOW. Holy moly, I'm going to make these. But I have to get some gluten free flour because I was recently told I need to steer clear.

P.S. I'm loving all your GREEN appliances.

Indeed! Well, sorry US folx but > FOOD PORN < is the one and only title which covers that topic in an appropriate way, right!!?
OK, it helps to know that Germans use a specific phrase as an excuse for that explicit wording: "Essen ist der Sex des Alters" :appwhore::lmao::whistle::thumbs:
