"To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time to every purpose under heaven
A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace
A time to refrain from embracing"

Fragment of "Romance de la Luna"
Federico Garcia Lorca (1898-1936)
Spanish poet
"La luna vino a la fragua
con su polisón de nardos.
El niño la mira mira.
El niño la está mirando.
En el aire conmovido
mueve la luna sus brazos
y enseña, lúbrica y pura,
sus senos de duro estaño.
Huye luna, luna, luna.
Si vinieran los gitanos,
harían con tu corazón
collares y anillos blancos.
Niño déjame que baile.
Cuando vengan los gitanos,
te encontrarán sobre el yunque
con los ojillos cerrados.

From the song "Elle" (1965)
Salvatore Adamo

Fragment of the poem
"The imprisoned truth"
(La Verdad Encarcelada)
To the girls imprisoned
for participating in the protests
(A las muchachas prisioneras
por participar en las protestas)
Gioconda Belli. Nicaraguan poet.
September 2018
I apologize that the following fragment of the poem is in Spanish. It is very difficult for me to make an adequate translation only with the help of Google.
If someone had a lot of interest, I could talk to Gioconda to see if she dares to do an English version.
"No imaginaban entonces
There is so much emotion in this piece of art!"They did not imagine then..."

Beautiful. And heartbreaking.
I have a lot of interest. I would not ask Ms Belli to go to such trouble for my ’interest’ - however, if she would like English translations - perhaps also with your images? - shared across some English-speaking sites to raise some awareness, and if sharing a translation would be safe (for her), I would be honoured to share it. As I’m sure would many other of your Mobi-friends.
Heart wrenching....
Mi especial agradecimiento. There is so much emotion in this piece of art!
