Mobi365 Ubbyisis’ Project 365 - 2022

Day 235 - August 23rd - Behind the mailboxes  :inlove:

Last year we spread out seeds from our faded garden flowers behind the postbox. Now we and our neighbours get to enjoy beautiful flowers when collecting the snail mail ✌ Great improvement as the mail nowadays is mostly boring things

Day 236 - August 24th - Gathering

Warning: this is NOT the same old Eva post with colourful flowers or cool bubble wizard :D

Rooks and jackdaws are gathering on the giant lamp posts outside a shopping mall. These are just a few of maybe thousands.

I like this image myself although it was shot with max digital zoom. With the BW style I got in Lightroom I think it looks like a drawing. And these birds is a common view in the town I grew up in - Uppsala

Day 237 - August 25th - White fluff in the air - everywhere :)

The time has come for spreading their seeds. We call this plant “mjölkört” (milk herb) and also “rallarros” (railway workers’ rose). I think you call it fireweed or rosebay willowherb. Scientifical name is Chamaenerion angustifolium. Shot on our morning walk with native cam. Edited in Pic-Tap-Go.

Really like this shot. Works well in BW.

Day 238 - August 26th - Bye bye summer of 2022

Another sunny and pleasantly warm day. We had dinner with Linus out on the porch. Probably for the last time this year. Bye bye summer

I can’t tell you how many wildflower seeds I’ve scattered in the pasture over the past two years hoping to turn it into a magic flower meadow… not ONE DAMN FLOWER has sprouted. I thought with all the horse poop it would be a piece of cake, but apparently the soil here is horrible.

Day 239 - August 27th - Gone fishing

Linus and DH participated in the annual angling competition up at the lake. No thunderstorms, not even a single drop of rain and Linus came no 5 for his 535 gram perch.

Photos shot by DH with an iPhone 11 basic model. Edited by me in Lightroom mobile and one of them also needed a touch of Retouch ;)

Serious angler

Wow, I managed to get it up in the boat :) But is it dangerous ?:D

Is it free of grass? If not, wildflowers will not flourish. You have to get rid of the grass and then scatter the seeds.:)

I love that second shot.

Aha…. no, it’s filled with grass, buttercups and other wild stuff. I figured if those things could grow in the hard, rocky, clay-ey soil anything could. Darn it.

Day 240 - August 28th - Fallen old friend :(

We had a terrible thunderstorm last night. Lasted for several hours. I got so scared that I probably turned off my “engine” and slept like almost dead until 10 this morning. And so did my boys. When we looked out we got a sad surprise. Our biggest rowan tree had been swiped down by the strong wind. I guess we’ve were lucky that nothing more got damaged.

Dramatic B&W by Jixipix

Blimey! And you all slept through it? Such a shame about the trees.:(

Day 241 - August 29th - Retirement doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do :)

DH spent the whole morning cleaning up after the storm. Afterwards he must have been tired. I found him in a corner of our garden seemingly talking to an old huge fir stump. It appeared he was trying to count the growth rings. The tree had been alive for more than 80 years

Day 242 - August 30th - Is it April already :alien: :D

Today we’ve had classic “aprilväder” although we are in the month of August. “Aprilväder” means that the weather is extremely variable over the day with constant mix of sun and rain and hail and etc.

On our way home from Uppsala this afternoon, native cam, edited in Lightroom mobile

Day 244 - September 1st - Full circle

Today both started and ended with rainbows. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced that before

Both photos edited in Lightroom mobile

Day 245 - September 2nd - Can you spot it :alien:

The extremely variable weather type is persisting. Got an ice cold rain shower when I was out for my daily walk  I saw a rainbow in the blue part of the sky today. Tried to capture it but it’s hardly visible. Tried to reveal it with Lightroom mobile….. My DH sees no difference. I guess he’s right;)

Day 246 - September 3rd - Just an illusion

I really don’t get this. This photo seems to be shot on a lovely partly sunny late summer evening. In reality it was so cold that I insisted we got home after I had taken some pics. And the setting sun came through a ”hole” in the grey sky. I’ve edited in Lightroom mobile to make it look even more “cozy-looking”. Good self therapy. This autumn really had an ugly start weatherwise
