Day 274 - October 1st - Autumn at the lake

A short trip to the lake in the late afternoon. Hazy sky made the sun look like a blown out moon. We didn’t stay long. Mosquito heaven up there.

Day 275 - October 2nd - A true tree-hugger :)

I did a little deviation from my normal path on today’s walk. I’m glad I did. I met a super huge and old ash tree - must be Yggdrasil :cool: It’s kind of strange. We’ve lived here for 34 years and this is the very first time I noticed that tree

Day 276 - October 3rd - Delicious

The farmer moved these cows to another pasture. The grass looks fantastic. If I had been a cow I would have been drooling :D The cows didn’t even approach me for a chat as they usually do. They were too busy munching.

Day 278 - October 5th - Chilly sunny October walk

For the first time this season, I had to wear a wool cap and thick gloves. About 5 degrees and strong wind from the north. I should have taken a warmer jacket but it was worth it freezing a bit. Lovely blue sky with fluffy clouds and the trees still have their autumn costumes on. A storm is expected for the weekend. I guess most of the leaves will be swept away.

Day 279 - October 6th - I must be insane, 8 miles in the rain (observe the rhyme :lol:)

I decided to take a walk up to the lake. I've only done it max 5 times before, it's a bit too far and the road is boring. I checked all the weather apps and thought I would make it before the rain. All the apps were just so wrong. The rain came half an hour after I had started. But I'm stubborn as a mule....

Day 280 - October 7th - Amazing they are still there

It’s windy like hell here since last night. I did another 8 miles and when I got the wind from the back I almost started to fly. Mary Poppins without umbrella. Took some photos of trees. Only thing in my camera roll for today.

Day 281 - October 8th - Happy person :inlove:

One of the best things with Linus is that he gets super happy and thankful for things that most people wouldn't care so much about. We were over tohis place to day for pizza lunch with my step mother and an old French lady. The lady had a present for Linus. New underwear with dinosaurs - Linus got so happy and hugged the lady, who started to cry by commotion :)

Day 282 - October 9th - Starting point of the clouds

I wish I knew a lot more about a lot of things :geek: Clouds for example. In this photo you can see that the "cloud rays" all emanate from a point in the far distance. I wonder how it works

Day 284 - October 11th - Almost naked part 2 :lmao:

I named yesterday’s post ”Almost naked”. I had no idea that it should be a part 2 today ;)

Isn't this hilarious? When I was close to the goal for my long walk, a young boy, perhaps 6 years old, stopped me in the street. "Why are you out walking wearing just a cap?" Immediately I saw a picture in my head: A naked elderly lady walking around in the village street. Of course that was not what the boy meant. He just found it strange seeing me in short sleeves. The boy himself was wearing more like winter clothes. Just like me when I started out on my walk. After half-an-hour the light rain stopped and the sun broke through the clouds. And it was 16 C (61F!). It was like a sauna with the raincoat on. My knight in his shining Dacia came to my rescue and took care of the excessive clothing. But I forgot to take off the wool cap.

It’s a new cap. I bought it recently and it’s the best cap I’ve ever had. Very soft and keeps your head warm, but not too much. And doesn’t push my Airpods further into my ears as tighter caps often do. I’m going to buy one more of them as a backup. Caps have a tendency to get lost ;)
 
Day 285 - October 12th - October mallow

By now we’ve had night frost a couple of times, but there’s still blooming going on by the roadsides - true flower power :cool: :thumbs:

Day 286 - October 13th - Bird feeders :thumbs:

Linus workplace is closed for a "planning day" and we took the opportunity to get an extra long weekend together. Linus arrived here yesterday and we spent a cozy evening together. Now the boys are in the garden doing all sorts of projects. And bubbling of course

Day 287 - October 14th - My longest walk this year

I had decided to take a very short walk today just to test my new boots. Instead I ended up with my longest walk this year. ”Those boots were made for walking” obviously :)

Day 288 - October 15th - Tired after yesterday’s concert night

So tired all three of us today. Despite that I walked 9 miles. I don’t know how I did it :thinking: Linus is back home now. Before he left he helped Dad organizing the winter placement for the summer furniture.

When Linus is here he insists on buying bubbles every time we go to the grocery store. It isn’t necessary at all as it’s easy to mix your own bubbles. But he gets so happy every time he picks one of those bottles from the shelf.
I agree about the last photo. He often gets into ”contemplative mood” when he realizes he’s soon going back to his place.
