I apologize for being MIA for a bit again. Life has been crazy busy since my husband’s accident. He starts physical therapy next week. Just got the metal rods out of his hand this past Monday. He is still off work, and is expected to be out for another 6 weeks. [emoji45] We are hoping that at the 3 week mark he might show enough progress for a return, but we won’t know till then. And unfortunately we are having a hard time finding an approved hand therapy specialist that takes our insurance.

I feel like I’m running circles most days and sleeping off the exhaustion on the others.
I’m ready for life to go back to some semblance of normalcy. Whatever that is, haha. [emoji6]

It is interesting being on the other side of the dr visits for a change. My husband has never had any real serious injury. And other than his asthma, never been seriously ill. It’s quite a change having me as his care giver instead of him as mine. We are learning that sometimes the only important thing is rest and everything else can be handled tomorrow.

Being home though, he is spending a lot of time with the kids which is quite nice. They are going to miss all the interaction when he has to go back to work. I’m going to miss him hanging with the kids.

My twins joined FFA/AG this year, which is another reason I’ve been busy. They had their first teenage school trip last week. Was a bitter sweet moment for me.
They have to do a major project for FFA/AG (like raising an animal or garden). My kids are doing an agricultural garden project. Part of that was going to a plant swap last week end here in town, but their school trip (also for FFA/AG) fell on the same day. So my husband and I ended up going to the plant swap in their place. It was fun, but I was so out of my element. Lol. I had no idea what plant was what, and neither of us could lift anything. We were a mess. Even though, I’m glad we did it. It was an amazing experience.

Here are a couple pics..

That morning was crazy foggy. I had almost zero visibility while driving the kids to their school. The plant swap was at the state park on the lake, so I stole some time before all the fog was gone to take a couple pictures. These are my favorites of them

Wowser, you’ve been busy! Love the photos of the plant sale, but the star for me is the black and white. Fantastic. The plant sale looks like it was a good one. We don’t really have anything like it here. I hope your husband’s hand continues to heal well.

I so want to share this here because it makes me feel such joy.

So today was a yucky day for me. Most of it was spent in bed. At sunset time my daughter comes into my room and tries to get me up and out to take a picture. I just couldn’t do it. So she says “i can take the picture with my phone, right?” And I reassure her that yes she can take pictures anytime she wants. So she says cool, that she’s going to show me how pretty the sunset is.

About 5 or so minutes later, she comes back and shows me this picture..

IMG_2777.JPG

I tell her what a great picture it is and thank her for showing me. It was such a sweet thing to do. But wait, it gets better...

I fell back asleep and forgot to have her send me the pic.. so a little bit ago, I snuck into her room to find her phone and send the picture to myself. When I opened her photos,I discovered that she’s been drawing on her phone in different apps... I grabbed a few of those too because they are awesome! Here are a couple..

She clearly has an artistic eye for complementary colours, even if she doesn’t know it yet. I love the “hair”. I think we’re seeing an artist in the making. Lovely.:inlove:

And variety ! Three completely different approaches.
I love that house - it’s got everything: colour, brushstrokes fine & broad, texture . . . :inlove:
I share your joy :)

Isn’t that house just the best little thing ever??!!?? It was the first one I noticed in her photo album and fell in love with it. Just makes me smile every time I see it.

Looks like she’s drawing in Flowpaper and SketchClub [emoji173]️[emoji173]️ so much awesomeness

Life has been crazy. My husband is back at work, thank god! He’s gotten back about 90% of the usage of his hand. We thought he was going to need a second surgery, but thankfully he was able to resolve the issue with physical therapy and determination.

That’s my “good news” update... unfortunately I also have a “bad news” update.

A serious health issue has surfaced for my oldest son. He’s currently not insured. We’ve had to put important tests and procedures off till after the 1st of January (when his insurance kicks in). This has caused some major stress and worry. He will be having serious surgery as soon as possible. Feels like life is in a sort of limbo for us here, even though it’s clearly moving forward. Having to wait makes everything more scary. The more you wait, the more time there is to think on all the possible ways things can go wrong. My son keeps circling back to the worst possible scenario for himself, and it’s hard to watch. My heart aches for him.

I will update here after I have some additional important info. As of now, we only know half the issue and several possible causes/complications . We are hoping for the lesser of all of it.

Today I went Christmas shopping with him and his friend from work. It was nice getting away from all the seriousness for a bit.

Here’s a couple pictures from today...,
