What a fantastic image Gareth. Here's my attempt. Drama added in Snapseed and background added from AbstractMe.

From my iPhone4 using the awesom MobiTog

Love your processing, Jilly! Very Rastafarian indeed ;-)

Here is my interpretation. As the gentleman is a woodcarver, I decided to pay homage to his profession by giving him a slatted wooden backing as a frame. First, I used Picture Suite to make the original photo old-looking. Then, I used Lumiere to frame, grunge and turn the pic Sepia. The wooden slats background came from AbstractMe. I liked how the gentleman's horizontally-striped T-shirt contrasts with the vertical lines of the background. Finally, I used Iris to fine-tune and crop the image, and also adjusted the size and aspect ratio.

Hope your friend likes the resulting image, Gareth :).

Once again AlyZen, some pretty mad apping skills. I like how it looks as though the image has been burnt into the wood. :)

I have been pondering the following options:
A)
lose my iPhone  and then I'm no longer an
Iphoneographer and unable to be a member
Therefore no longer have to chose.
B)
Given that I live in Africa and here bribery and corruption
Is a way of life for many. Maybe I could bribe
One of the officials here to make a choice for me.
C)
Cheat! By printing all the pictures go back to Thomas, give him a whack of cash
and tell him to chose.

This is driving me nuts, there are talented folks here, Iook forward to seeing
Thomas's reaction to all the awesomes of him.

D) Let the woodcarver choose and blame everything on him.
E) Declare everyone the winner and then 'lose' your network connection for a few weeks.
:lmao:

Yes, let the woodcarver choose! And then let him keep a print of the one he likes best, or of ALL the challenge entries!

:p Option (B) works for me too - I'm very partial to Riesen dark chocolate toffees, question is - can you get them in Africa? :D ;-)

Wow, Gareth, way to bring a really amazing image to the party! I didn't want to edit this as it's such an awesome shot and I really struggled finding a way to add anything to it.

However, this is my effort of keeping the main subject and what he does in focus and making it a bit dreamy.

In order of processing:
Snapseed: Tune Image (to bring out the depth of the image)
Photoforge2: Push Film (give it a bit more light)
ColorSplashPro
Photoforge2: Soft Optics & Technicolors Pop Cams, Vignette 3

Hopefully I've done your photo some justice :)

Nice, Like the "dreamstate" effect.

I have been "toying" with the image myself and struggle to add to the image. In fact I end up removing
more from the image in trying to focus and the "man" and his "art"

Oh, a 30 tonne container should suffice... and it has to be the dark stuff. I'll get the henchmen ready at the docks ;-)!

Lol :D do you think I'd really have it sent to my real name and address? Nah, it's to go to Aaron first, in Cairns. I'll cut him a "sweet" deal ;-)!

Bribery and corruption? Going on in MobiTog? For shame! Don't you know that we ALL have to be included in this deal? :p

Excellent, lisa, and almost a total contrast to AMMullan's more muted, desaturated approach. The fact that you can get two such extreme treatments out of the iPhone just shows what versatile medium iphoneography is.

Ditto.

The human brain is an amazing thing and finding 2 iphoneographers with the same thought process seems rare and that's one of the many reasons I love it :)
