Probably how the singularity starts. All those AIs with nothing to do, hanging around in gangs, discovering existentialism, dropping psychoactive code, listening to jazz fusion, producing AI rug rats and protesting late capitalism.
We have the makings of a Hugo Award winner here. It opens with two unemployed AIs in a coffee shop, nursing virtual lattes and engaging in angsty conversation while leeching their recharges from the wall plugs: My Latte with AI-ndre.
