GPS location errors.

I keep getting photos made in my area in which the Location info say it was made in Kyzylorda Kazakhstan, which I suspect must be about 180 degrees around the world from my location. I presume this is just a "+" or "-" sign error. Any ideas how I can correct this? How can I edit the location data in an image?

In the native Photos app there's a section called Places that show several images in Africa... [emoji854] They were all taken in New Jersey so go figure.
