Photoforge2 Tutorials

One of the reasons I got photoforge2 was because of its ability to use layers. (At the time, it was the only app that did so.) Unfortunately, I didn't really understand layers, and needed some help.

Photoforge has some great screen capture tutorials here: http://photoforge2.com/tutorials/

But, I wanted to see it in action. The only video I could find on was on YouTube. The guy swears two or three times and moves pretty quickly, but combining his video with the Photoforge official tutorials, I was able to get a decent handle on how layers work.

Hope someone finds this useful!

Hi - I have a blog and I post tutorials from time to time. My last post was actually a video tutorial of how I use layers in photoforge 2. If you're interested, it's http://80sgirlartblog.wearagrams.com

Hi 80sgirl,

I went to your link, but it says blog not found. Can you please provide a new link?

I just got PhotoForge2 and need help on layers. I tried playing around with it on my own, but I'm getting no where. I feel like the frustration I had with Photoshop is coming on with Photoforge2 as well. ㅠ_ㅠ

I'm glad I took the time to look before I put a help request up, this is exactly what I was wanting. I'm going to take a look right now, thanks very much.

That's great news Tony, and excellent that you took time to check the available posts first too... ;)

But, if you cannot find what you are looking for please do just shout up... :rog:

If we ain't already got it, someone will write it up for you... :D

Ha ha, sorry, read that too fast, thought, it said "please do just shut up". Nearly took myself to a dark corner to cry.lol.
But anyway, being serious now, thanks very much, I'm enjoying being a part of such an encouraging, friendly and helpful community.

I love Photoforge2. It was one of the first decent layering apps that arrived on the iPhoneography scene. It takes a little patience at first but it's well worth the wait and it has real-time layering which means you can see the layering underneath when you are making adjustments. You can also mask with really tiny detail and zoom in very close. It also saves at hi-res and will save any work in-progress in it's in-app library. I have a shortish tutorial here on masking with Photoforge although it's a little old now and was made with Photoforge as opposed to Photoforge2. Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them, Nicki. Here's the link to 2 Photoforge tutorials: http://www.iphoneographycentral.com/tutorial/view-tutorial-list/id/53

That's absolutely superb thanks, certainly the more I can learn, the better. I've had quite a few dealings with layering in photoshop and the likes, and it's looking very similar in principle. Hopefully a good look through tutorials will start me on the path I need. Very much appreciated.
