The covered version here was built in the 1890s, refurbed in the 1980s, and patched up again in the last 10 years or so. It was once the only way to get from Santa Cruz to Felton without fording a river but now goes nowhere and is attached to a small public park. The state historical register says it's "believed to be the tallest in the country." (They don't seem quite sure, do they?)
