Time to vote for April Image of the Month (IotM). All MobiTog members are eligible to vote. Voting ends May 7.
That’s beautiful! I love the cool tones.
Michael, are you on Instagram? I’ve been posting some of our images from the challenges and would like to tag you.
I had to zoom up on this…his leg looks like cobblestone.
Amazing collection of textures! What a beauty.
I think that counts. Not really from the hip, more of a “behind a pint of Brown Ale….

At first I thought you’d blacked out the kid’s face to protect his identity!
Wow, this is a GREAT capture! I suck at this type of photography. I am constantly waiting for people to move away so I can shoot, LOL.View attachment 187850
Out of the past
(In other words, dredged up from the archives)
What I love about this photo is that the two guys are laughing and enjoying their walk together. I don't follow street photography much because too often it's just grim-faced people or misery porn.
I mostly wait for people to get out of the way, too. For this kind of no-look hip shot, I use the native cam (because it seems to have better autofocus than other apps), use the widest lens available, trigger a burst or a bunch of shots, and have a perspective corrector handy when editing (Photos app works well for that, but I have SKRWT if I need to get extreme). I usually shoot while walking (i.e., while in motion), and my keeper percentage is very very low.Wow, this is a GREAT capture! I suck at this type of photography. I tried that method a few times and it’s soooo not intuitive for me. It’s hard for me to hold the phone in one hand, I keep thinking I’ll drop it…I mostly wait for people to get out of the way, too. I haven't dropped it -- yet -- but a lot of my failures come from my fingers getting into the picture (especially with the ultrawide lens). You can use a Bluetooth trigger as an alternative, though they usually have a bit of a lag in the shot.I tried that method a few times and it’s soooo not intuitive for me. I have more success with the blue tooth. I bought a bandolier phone case partly for street photography. Not that I’ve used it for that in the last year. I guess I have to plan for an outing to do this properly.I haven't dropped it -- yet -- but a lot of my failures come from my fingers getting into the picture (especially with the ultrawide lens). One thing I haven't tried yet is recording video and then grabbing frames from it.

Oh yeah… I forgot I can use the headphones as a trigger. If I’m being honest, I really don’t do this type of photography because it’s the least interesting for me… I don’t really care for the modern day street photos - unless they are extremely creative in some way they all just start looking the same. I’m sure someone could say the same about nature photography, or any genre, really. If I want an image of people, I find portraits much more intriguing/interesting.I have more success with the blue tooth. I bought a bandolier phone case partly for street photography. I do agree, Catherine. I don’t like like the gritty sort of street photography so much, but I do like what sdimbour Sandra captures. Not sure if I like the image or your caption better.View attachment 187866
