Hi lucky MobiMembers and welcome to the MobiMash Demonstrator Thread...

The idea is to introduce the latest Challenge idea put up by our very own Aaron, The MobiMash - please note this isNOT the starter thread, this is just a demonstration thread so MobiMembers can get a feel for the structure and basic instructions, hopefully set out in a coherent and easy to follow style...

The MobiMash Challenge will start when all invited members have inserted their five iMages and we will run the demo thread for other members to watch and learn from - before we go LIVE next time around with a free for all MobiMash - by the way, the title of the Challenge is still under debate...

So, with no further ado, here is, for your comment and discussion over the next week or so, the...

MobiMash Demonstrator...

This thread has been set up to give all MobiMembers the opportunity to see how the MobiMashup will work!

To follow on from the recent successes of the Animation Collaboration Project, resulting in a storming composite video, all managed and mastered by our very own Aaron Davis, Aaron has now suggested we embark on another collaboration, this time named MobiMash.

The idea behind this Project is to come up with a final image that is the result of blending, mixing and mashing two or more iPhoneography iMages that have been posted by other, separate MobiMembers.

In essence, MobiMembers wishing to participate, will post up 5 images making up a pool of iMages from which MobiMembers will then select two or more images from the pool and process them to develop their MobiMash iMage as entry for each MobiMash Challenge...

On the basis that a picture is worth a thousand words - the following MobiMash pool and subsequent mashed images will, therefore, represent thousands of words and should make it simple to develop an artistic concept and interpretation...

So, with no more ado let's get on with the key principles of the MobiMash Challenge:

General Overview & Specific Rules & Guidelines for this MobiMash Project, over and above those referred to in the general Rules & Guidelines for MobiChallenges, mentioned below :

i. MobiMembers participating in the MobiMash Challenge will firstly be required to post up a selection of five unprocessed, original, iPhoneography works to the MobiMash pool;

ii. Participating members will then select two or more iMages from the MobiMash pool of iMages and process them to enhance and emphasise the peculiarities of the two selected iMages in their own MobiMash interpretation.

iii. There will, within reason, be no holds barred, except the processing must be carried out in an iDevice - iPhone, iTouch, iPad and so on to combine two or more of the iMages from the MobiMash pool;

iv. MobiMembers will also able to mash iMages they have taken specifically for their end concept for each challenge, inspired by pool images. These images must also be uploaded as part of the MobiMashpool.

Please also see the general Rules and Guidelines for MobiChallenges posted > HERE

This MobiMash demonstrator will run for most of one week from Sunday the 04th September.

So, this Sampler Only thread will kick off when the following MobiMembers have entered their five (5) iMages into the pool:

Mansi Bhatia
bpahia
lisamjw
Veevs
Aaron Davis
AlyZen Moonshadow
Kerryn Benbow
RoseCat

These MobiMembers will each then select their two or more iPhoneography images to work on and get this Mobitog Mashup started... :D

Here is a sample video of Pre-MobiMashes made by Aaron, to give you all an idea of what to expect...

For the rest of the MobiCommunity - please feel free to join in with comments and queries as this one progresses ad the next MobiMash Challenge will then be open for all Members, hopefully from next weekend... :D

5. Underneath Richmond Bridge on the Thames

And here's my mash! Took Kerryn's orchid photo, and Veevs lillypond photos. Processed the lillypond photo using the Grunge filter in Iris. This was then masked with the orchid photo. The result was then processed in Snapseed. Kerryn and Veevs, if you could please email me the full res images at [email protected], that'd be fab!

For my Mobimash, I picked Aaron's whistler sculpture and Kerryn's waterball. Using Juxtaposer, I reduced the size of the waterball and superimposed it onto the whistler image. Then I added some water bubbles using Paint FX. I used Iris to resize the image and added a little cross-processed colour too, and sharpened up the final image a bit as well.

Here are the "before" and "after" images.

Hi Mashers, here's my first effort. I blended Kerryn's Flowers with my pic Joan of Arc in DXP using the Hue blend setting, then cross processed in iDarkroom. I've loaded the images that were blended plus the final.

Kerryn could you please email me a high Rez version of Flowers? My email address is [email protected] .

Here's a repost of my image. Processed from the full res images for the eventual book! Thanks Kerryn and Veevs! Cropping is a bit different, and I played with it a little more in Snapseed. This was lots of fun to work on!

Love the feel, tone and coloring on this image, well done. :)

OMG so many fantastic photos I dont know which ones to choose

I always start with one inspiration image that I build the story/theme on with other images. What's everyone else's process?

Clever use of two pool images AlyZen. I will have to learn how to use Juxtaposer. Well done. :)

Here is a draft of my first Mobimash using Lisamjw's Local Shopping Centre as well as Mansi's Granny with Rifle and Shaded Path. I used PictureShow to mirror the shopping centre then Layers to superimpose the three images and crudely draw the Abbey Road Crosswalk then did a bit of cross processing for colour in FX PhotoStudio and Then CinemaFx to soften the focus.

Would love high res versions of the images from Lisa and Mansi if possible please :)

That is brilliant Kerryn! Talk about creating a story. Which Beatle is it?

Guys, seeing as some of us (myself included) were early off the block and already working on our composites before everyone's 5 images were submitted... I hope it's ok for us to submit more than one entry to this Demo? Just for the Demo, maybe?

What do you think? Also, it might be a good idea to have a deadline set for submitting the 5 images, before running the Challenge? That way the pool will be full and there won't be any stragglers or early starters. Ahem!! ;-)

AlyZen, I'm not one for too many rules and this isn't a competition. So go for it and create as many images as you want. I was hoping that we will all do this for a while and make a Blurb Book with a favorite from each contributor. So the more you create the more you have to choose from. :)

Oh and as for the straggler part, I think us Aussies should take over the start dates, as we're ahead of everyone else, time wise at least. Lol.
