Hipstamatic X

Hi all, long time, as they say. Good to see some activity in the old Hipstamatic camp again. After a bumpy start I've got the 'new' Hipstamatic (X2, XX?) up and running. You can find me there under the account name 'Richard22'. Any of my old MobiTog friends also there yet?

Ive ditched Instagram again, its become unbearable lately with the stupid reels of dashcam car accidents, sharks, gawping asian teens mooning at the camera and soft porn gym bunnies flexing their glutes. I spent ages every day, blocking, disliking and closing the trash and never finding anything worthwhile to view. I even became infuriated with the new Plates app too.

Just curious but for all you Hipstamatic X users out there, how many cameras do you use? Do you stick with the 'presets' or create a lot of custom cameras?

Hi Richard, I like to chop and change using the different lenses so don't have any favourite ones just yet.

I am not a Hipsta Pro. I”m using Hipstamatic X and have limited myself to 20 combos. I must get rid of one to add one. Hopefully, this will force me to get a handle on what a few lenses and films are capable of. I copy combos that I like from here, or instagram, occasionally I look at the Hipsta website for ideas, but that’s overwhelming after a bit.
 
Hipstamatic (Yellow) is the classic, or original. The editing is much more versatile. It also allows you to switch out flashes, which X doesn’t. Hipstamagic X (red) is a newer, subscription sort of thing. You build your own cameras, then name them. The editing is limitied. It’s more of a social sort of thing, but I like it because it seems easier to remember my cameras and what they do. I somehow lucked out when the subscription started and was grandfathered in. (I should say grandmothered.)

Thank you, they are different than mine, HipX is black with a yellow lens and yellow dot above, plain Hip is black with yellow spot.

On a good note I keep buying the Paks lol.

I got a couple more today, so at the moment I have 15 Paks 44 Lenses only 53 Films 8 Flashes and 13 Cases. As you can see it's just a few of each lol

That’s why I stopped using Hipstamatic… :( Just way too many choices for me - it’s overwhelming. When I was a big user it was in the beginning years with probably 1/4 of the paks I have now, and I stopped getting them several years ago, so could have even more! :eek:

I think there are choices for the icons. beware buying paks willy nilly. That’s what got me in the muddled state I’m in!

I'm not going to buy anymore Paks as I will totally lose my self, so I have a nice collection to go through and save some that I set up.
 
I just edit. haven't shot with X- its fun to just see Hipsta photos, but so far I don't see the engagement of IG, etc.
