It’s taken on the inside of the gateway between the Bishop’s Palace in Wells and the market square. Built in the 15th century the locals said it was so the bishop could ‘keep an eye’ on what was going on in the square (possibly).

I've noticed the same trend around here -- more of the city/county public structures are opening themselves up to large scale artwork.

The original church was deconsecrated and was planned to become the Belardi's home, but after Faye Belardi died, it was passed to the county for public use. It was the Felton branch of the county library system for many years and is now a historical museum.

This struck me as odd. The stone inside the arch isn’t that different from the rest. It’s like they built a door then immediately filled it in.
