My first proper job (never mind the paper round or kitchen washer upper) was at Boots as Saturday staff. It lead onto a full time job for 2 years which I hated and eventually resigned and went to work on a kibbutz in Israel. I can still tell you what's good for blocked sinuses and the side effects for long term use.View attachment 119055

Coronation80's weekly outpouring was stunning in its vibrancy, awash in primary colors. sinnerjohn treated us to 2 beautifully moody edits. rizole surfaces and sunset were classic Rizole. terse and zenjenny gave us wonderful abstracts. And the winner is...
sdimbour's End of Christmas which kept drawing me back for multiple viewings, nicely composed and edited, evoking a large dose of post-holiday pathos

Lovely judging David, and congratulations to sdimbour Sandra. I loved that image. It’s got just about everything for me. Well done to everyone else who posted. The second week of January is an odd time of year. I anticipate an upsurge of participation going forward.Headlines this week -

Congrats to sdimbour for that lovely capture, and some applause for the rest of us who chipped in, including us two lonely former colonials.
* And just by the way, I'm sure you'll all be fascinated to learn that the common English verbal tic "I guess," which you might suppose to be relatively modern, has quite a long history, all the way back to Chaucer ("y gesse") and Middle English if not farther. For example:
For thou of love hast lost thy taste, y gesse,
As seke man hath of swete and bitternesse
-- The Parliament of Fowls
("seke" = "sick" in this context)
Thanking you for your attention.
Well done, Sandra, that was a great image, a total winner.Headlines this week -
