DESDE MI VENTANA (FROM MY WINDOW)

Desde mi ventana veo la aventura
en nubes y vientos, en soles y mares
en los firmamentos, en el horizonte
siniestras figuras destruyen los sueños de mi esperanza.

La vida me llama, la vida me lleva.

(...) Quedan caminos que recorrer
nuevas alboradas mis ojos llenarán, llenarán
dejaré a mi paso huellas que en senderos
en días futuros otros andarán, andarán.

Words: Hernaldo Zúniga. Nicaraguan Songwriter. From the song "Ventanillas".

Nicely done...I really like the Hipsta combo you used for this image.

You are very kind Jen. Thanks!
Do you think if will be better if I rename the thread as "The Lyrics of the Photographs"?

What I try to express are my feelings and my emotions because, sometimes, when I take a photograph, it tell me something, and "its words" recalls in me, poems and songs.
(Sorry for my english: is the result of a Google translation):zip:
My best.

Rodolfo your title 'The Words of the Photographs' is captivating and very artistic. It points to the visual image as well as to the song.

I used 'lyrics' because I was referring to the words of the song. In English, words of a song are 'lyrics' . In opera, words to a song are 'the libretto', I think..? Can anyone help me here ?!? terse ? o_O

Me?

Er, I think libretto would be all the words in the opera -- the "book" -- and all the music would be the score (although perhaps score = music + lyrics for real musicians?). I'd call the words of an aria the lyrics (but with less confidence now than before you asked!). I think of lyrics as words set to music, but my California-infused brain doesn't have any problem with "the words of the song."

That's English for you -- multiple ways to say the same thing with shades of meaning that may or may not make a difference (or a difference that makes a difference, anyway). Yup.

Being vigorous and responsible
in my school,
Creative and tenacious
in my games and tasks,
Communicative and cooperative
with my family,
I'll go bit by bit,
every day,
making me
a noble and solidary person,
and able to build
by myself
my better future

"The man bent over his guitar,
A shearsman of sorts. The day was green.

They said, "You have a blue guitar,
You do not play things as they are."

The man replied, "Things as they are
Are changed upon the blue guitar."

And they said then, "But play, you must,
A tune beyond us, yet ourselves,

A tune upon the blue guitar
Of things exactly as they are."

(...) And that's life, then: things as they are,
This buzzing of the blue guitar."

From Wallace Stevens's poem "The Man with the Blue Guitar"

I didn't know that was a double album. My first album purchases were 'Whiter Shade of Pale' and 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath' - maybe I should ask Rodolfo to practise his art for matching words and images on one of those :) I still love WSoP - I just avoid watching the videoclip :)
