Climbing towards the sky

We got this rose as a gift when we moved out here in 1989. Still going strong.

I used Oilbrush on a photo of some of the waterlilies in our tiny pond, but I have to say the real image is more beautiful than the ”painting”

The extra short life of ipomea flowers

They started to fade shortly after having burst. Edits in Lightroom. Timestamps made in Picsart

Do they open again the next day? We bought a wild flower mix to plant around our Hummingbird and Oriole feeders and have a flower that opens for only a few hours a day.

They don’t open the next day. Instead new flowers open. In Swedish it is often called ”blomman-för-dagen” which means ”the flower that only blooms for one day”. It’s like a fun game to guess how many flowers have opened before we get out in the morning :)

Marigold (tagetes) for dinner :)

We discovered a tiny snail munching leaves in one of our flower pots. We got a couple of brief rain showers this afternoon. I guess there are snails in more places. Perhaps we should go for a snail hunt before bedtime :D

Seems a shame to call that a weed.
I agree. I don’t think it’s considered a weed here. It is not common everywhere. Just in the parts of Sweden with calcareous soil. The Swedish name Blåeld means Blue fire
