APPstract YES! IT’S BACK! APPStract #45 Theme from fairy story or fantasy

Two of my all-time favorite books are by Clive Barker: Weave World (re-reading it for the umpteenth time now) and Imajica. How I’d love if these were made into movies.
Shows how much I know - the name Clive Barker conjures up spy? Political thrillers? not sure, but not fantasy. Rivers is my first venture into fantasy fiction. Well, there was a unit on Dystopias at uni — Marge Piercy, Margaret Atwood, Ursula Le Guin. But we were reading them for the (then) radical politics of gender etc. And had to write essays on same, so no fun there : )

I googled the novels and I have a vague memory of having read Weave World. I wonder if it’s still around somewhere. Even though I already have too much reading material.......

Rip Torn’s Fairy Godmother Takes a Pass

I saw a young Rip Torn in an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents from 1957. He seemed to be in a bad way.

I keep thinking about “Fractured Fairytales “ as inspiration for this challenge. Alfred Hitchcock works, too.
